Frequently Asked Questions

The information listed below is to help coordinate arrival, departure and some special aspects of your vacation so everyone may fully enjoy their trip to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains.

Why Rent A Jackson Mountain Home? (CLICK HERE)

HOW DO I GET MY KEYS? Check-In at the JMH office to pick up the unit keys. JMH will only release keys to the person whose name the reservation is listed in. If someone else needs to pick up keys, the booking guest must call JMH and register that person as the designated Check-In person.

GROUP CHECK-IN, HOW DOES IT WORK? It is the booking guest’s responsibility to coordinate all parties arriving separately to direct them to their rental home. Please provide each member of your group with a map (available upon request) to their home and the unit phone number. Remember, it is the booking guest’s responsibility to Check-In at the office to pick up the keys and no one is to go to the house prior to Check-In at the office.

DOES JMH OFFER DISCOUNT VOUCHERS FOR AREA ATTRACTIONS? Yes! When you arrive you will receive a check-in package with vouchers for many area restaurants and attractions. You must have your voucher in-hand in order to redeem the offer. Some offers require reservations or have restrictions.

HOW DOES LATE CHECK-IN WORK? If you plan on arriving after 5:30pm, please use the late arrival procedures you received with your rental agreement. That form will explain how to access your keys and unit map in the late arrival box located at the office.

HOW DO WE GET DIRECTIONS TO THE PROPERTY? You will get detailed directions and map to your cabin in your check-in package.

SHOULD I BRING MY OWN FIREWOOD? NO! Transporting firewood to the Smokies can kill zillions of trees because wood borers and other insects lay eggs on or in live and dead wood. These pests are not native to the Smokies and they spread quickly killing the trees in their paths.

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES ON NOISE/GROUPS/PARKING? Our rental homes are to be used for the QUIET enjoyment of our guests and NOT to be used for parties, large gatherings or receptions. The sleeping capacity of the home cannot be exceeded and the number of vehicles in the parking area cannot exceed capacity. Cars may not be parked in the yard or the street except in a designated parking space. No campers or camping on the grounds of the rental home is allowed. No outdoor fires are permitted

For groups larger than the sleeping capacity of the unit, we highly recommend reserving an outside facility for large gatherings, such as:
