Explore the Smoky Mountains

Waterfalls are like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow – the perfect ending to a great day of hiking. One of the most popular waterfalls in the area is Rainbow Falls. After a short drive to the Trailhead in Gatlinburg, a hike along the 2.7 mile trail will lead you down rhododendron-filled paths, across a log foot bridge, and over LeConte Creek, where you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular view of the 80-foot-tall Rainbow Falls.

Visit Historic Buildings

The Great Smoky Mountains are home to numerous historic buildings. Cades Cove is one of the best areas in the Smokies to see some of these historic buildings, as the Cove is home to several cabins, churches, and a grist mill. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time when you visit this part of the park, as the National Park Service has left it just like it would have been when the earlier settlers of the mountains first arrived.historic log cabin in Great Smoky Mountains
